Nunavik

The Nunavik Community Justice Center’s mission is to promote access to justice by assisting Inuit in estate settlements and by offering free legal information services, support and guidance, as well as referrals to existing services throughout Nunavik.

Our Long Term Vision

The Nunavik Community Justice Center pursues the objective of providing the Inuit with a sufficient degree of autonomy for the settlement of estates to enable them to access basic services in the region similar to what other Quebec citizens are entitled to. This goal can be achieved through training, awareness and community mobilization.

Our services

The Nunavik Community Justice Center provides support and guidance services for estate settlements. More specifically, we assist members of the community throughout every step that must be undertaken, and we refer them to organizations from the territory participating in the process.

We refer community members to organizations who will assist them without charging professional fees when they need legal advice or to be represented in court.

Finally, we offer in collaboration with our partners, notarial clinics and information sessions on estate settlement to community members as well as training to our close collaborators.
