The Community Justice Centers are independent non-profit organizations.
They are funded by the Access to Justice Fund, which is under the responsibility of the Quebec Department of Justice.
This fund, established on April 5th 2012, supports actions to enhance the public’s knowledge and understanding of Québec’s laws and legal system in order to promote access to justice.
The income of the Access to Justice Fund mainly comes from:
- the appropriations transferred by the Minister;
- the Canada-Québec agreement on Québec family justice measures;
- the $8 contribution paid by offenders found guilty of an offence under the laws of Québec.
